This Saturday is a very big night for British boxing fans, with 2 world titles on the line. Nathan Cleverly defends his WBO light-heavyweight title against hard-hitting Russian Sergey Kovalev in a mouth-watering fight, but what is arguably an even bigger fight for British boxing is Darren Barker's world title challenge against IBF middleweight champ Daniel Geale. The fight will take place in Atlantic City and will be televised live on Sky Sports in the early hours of Sunday morning in the UK.

The Fans Have Voted: Macklin Vs Golovkin

87% picking Golovkin to win. Enters as huge favorite!

On Saturday night (June 29th) WBA and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin defends his title for the third time already this year against highly-rated British/Irish 160lber Matthew Macklin. The fight takes place at the MGM Grand at the Foxwords resort in Connecticut.

The Fans Have Voted: Rees Vs Crolla

Crolla starting to gain support in final few days!

Like most Rees opponents, Crolla has a clear size advantage.
When this fight was announced people were excited, but it was still seen as a one-sided fight in most people's eyes, with former world champion Rees being levels above domestic contender Anthony Crolla. However, over the past few days Crolla has started to emerge as the favorite with some fans and experts, with a lot of people thinking that Rees may underestimate him.

The Fans Have Voted: Can Hughie do it?

By Jack Price @PriceyJ97 - @BoxingOpinions1

18-year old Hughie Fury is currently only serving his apprenticeship in the sport, fighting regularly against "journeyman", but already he has caught the attention of the British public with his size and ability. After a successful amateur career, he turned pro with his uncle Peter and currently trains alongside his big cousin Tyson. After just 5 fights (all wins, 4 by KO) he has proven that he has superstar potential and that there are two Fury's we should look out for in the heavyweight division.

The Fans Have Voted: Bradley-Provodnikov voted as 'Fight Of The Year' so far!

By Jack Price @PriceyJ97 - @BoxingOpinions1

Bradley & Provodnikov gave us a night to remember!
What a year it has already been for action, excitement and thrills in boxing. The fights that were expected to be dull have turned into classics and the fights that we were expecting action in have lived up to the expectations too. Off the top of my head I can think of more than a few fights from this year that we will be remembered for years to come and I'm sure most other fight fans can too.

The Fans Have Voted: Froch Vs Kessler II

69% of fans picking Carl Froch to get redemption!

What way will it go this time?
It is the week of the big one! On Saturday night IBF super-middleweight champion Carl Froch takes on WBA titleholder Mikkel Kessler in one of the most highly-anticipated rematches of all time. The boxing Twitter community has been going crazy for this one for months and now we're just days away. It's needless to say that we received more votes for this than any other fight this year, and we've done this for fights like Mayweather-Guerrero, Trout-Alvarez & Peterson-Matthysse. That shows just how big this fight is.

Now on paper and with most experts, this fight is 50/50. But British fans have got behind their man in this one and the voting shows it:

The Fans Have Voted: Peterson-Matthysse

63% picking Matthysse to win. 94% by KO!

This weekend, WBC interim light-welterweight champ Lucas Matthysse takes on IBF 140lb titleholder Lamont Peterson in what is expected by most to be an action-packed 'Fight Of The Year.' The reason for this that you have Matthysse, regarded by many as the hardest pound-for-pound puncher on the planet, getting the opportunity he so badly deserves to prove he can cut it at world level. However, the man opposite him in the ring will not just lay down and act as a stepping stone for the Argentinian. Lamont Peterson is a very, very tough and talented man and he will look to be with Matthysse every step of the way at the Boardwalk Hall on Saturday night.

Here is how the fans see this fight going:

The Fans Have Voted - Will Gonzalez be back?

After 6 or 7 rounds of the WBO lightweight title bout between Ricky Burns and Jose Gonzalez in Scotland last night, we all thought we were about to witness the birth of a new superstar when Gonzalez seemed to be cruising to victory against the champion. However, after a big 7th round for the Puerto Rican the momentum switched and Burns took the fight to the clearly-gassed Gonzalez. The same followed in round 9 and a massive shock came at the end of the round when Gonzalez retired on his stool and threw away what could be the biggest opportunity of his life.

It's now the day after the fight and Gonzalez is still the main talking point for most of the boxing community on Twitter. People are wondering if we will see him back bigger and better or is he going to end up as a wasted talent? So we decided to ask our Twitter followers (@BoxingOpinions1) what they believe the future holds for Jose Gonzalez:

Fans vote Rosado as close winner in Rosado-Love!

The first big fight on the undercard of Mayweather-Guerrero last night was a highly-anticipated middleweight bout between former world title challenger Gabriel Rosado (21-7, 13 KO's) and Mayweather Promotions prospect J'Leon Love (16-0, 8 KO's). The fight was as exciting and as close as we expected if not more, but unfortunately ended with a little controversy after J'Leon Love was announced as the winner via split decision. The crowd booed the decision as they felt that Rosado, after landing some big shots and putting Love on the canvas, did enough to win the fight.

As this still seemed to be a big talking point this morning, I asked our Twitter followers (@BoxingOpinions1) who they had winning the fight. Here are the results from the people that have got back to me so far:

The Fans Have Voted: Mayweather-Guerrero

Guerrero loses lead in final 2 days! Landslide victory for Floyd!

It's getting closer and closer, and the excitement is building... We're just days away from the highly-anticipated return of the pound-for-pound king Floyd 'Money' Mayweather (43-0, 26 KO's)! On Saturday May 4th he takes on Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero (31-1, 18 KO's) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I don't need to explain to you how big this fight is. The fact that we received more votes for this fight than any other shows just how excited the fans are for Floyd's return and also how intrigued they are to see if Guerrero really can give the WBC champ the toughest fight of his career so far.

At first it looked as though we were going to see a big upset in the polls when the voting started this week. Robert Guerrero was actually pulling ahead after the first day or so but couldn't hold onto the lead as Floyd received more and more votes and moved further and further ahead in the final two days.

The Fans Have Voted: Khan Vs Diaz

90% picking Khan to have successful UK comeback!

This weekend (Saturday April 27th) Amir 'King' Khan (27-3, 19 KO's) returns to the UK, taking on experienced Mexican Julio Diaz (40-, 29 KO's) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. The actual fight itself isn't that exciting but the fact that Khan is returning to the UK for the first time in over 2 years and that he is still on the comeback trail from his devastating knockout loss to Danny Garcia, has got the fans talking about and anticipating this fight.

When we took in the fans predictions on Twitter (@BoxingOpinions1) this week, these were the results that came back:

The Fans Have Voted: Alvarez Vs Trout

57% PICKING AUSTIN TROUT TO BEAT SAUL ALVAREZ!

The biggest unification bout of the year takes place this weekend when WBC light-middleweight champion and Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (41-0, 30 KO's) takes on WBA titlist Austin 'No Doubt' Trout (26-0, 14 KO's) in front of 50,000 passionate fight fans at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

On paper this is a real 50/50 fight; Two undefeated champions with equally impressive records taking on the toughest possible challenge at 154lb. Now, in the build-up to this fight it seemed to me that Canelo would enter as the slight favorite and he still does with the bookies but in our most recent poll on Twitter (@BoxingOpinions) Austin Trout emerged as the surprise favorite with the majority of the voters.

Here are the results:
