Twitter has blown up this morning with the news that British heavyweight legend Lennox Lewis could potentially make a comeback to fight current heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko for the IBF, WBA, WBO & IBO world titles.

In his latest bout Kubrat Pulev defeated Tony "The Tiger" Thompson in one of the most boring fights I have ever watched in my entire life. Pulev had so much hype surrounding him coming up to this fight especially after his performance against unbeaten Belarusian Alexander Ustinov finishing him in a superb display in the 11th round defending his IBF International Heavyweight Title for the 3rd time becoming ranked number 1 with the International Boxing Federation.

On Saturday night (September 21^st) on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders Vs John Ryder at the CopperBox Arena, British heavyweight Dereck Chisora scored arguably the most impressive victory of his career, putting on a close to punch-perfect performance against tough German Edmund Gerber. The impressive victory not only pushed him up the rankings, but also earned him the EBU European heavyweight title.

A heavyweight that has split a lot of opinion lately is New Jersey-based Pol Tomasz Adamek (49-2, 29 KO's). The 36-year old has achieved a lot on his career, winning world titles at light-heavyweight and cruiserweight, but since stepping up to heavyweight he has struggled to impress, especially in recent fights. Around 5 months ago the biggest fight in British heavyweight boxing, or maybe even British boxing as a whole, was David Price Vs Tyson Fury. The two giants seemed on a highly-anticipated collision course with both of them looking to achieve the same things in the sport, the main thing being a world title shot. However, on February 23rd everything changed when Price was knocked out in just two rounds by American veteran and big underdog Tony Thompson in his hometown of Liverpool, leaving the 2008 Olympian miles behind Fury at that current point as Fury looked to move onto bigger and better things.

Ian "Lay Em Out" Lewison is the 31 year old heavyweight boxer from Brixton, South London. He had a successful career as an amateur, beating both Helenius and Solis, finishing his AM career with a record of 67 wins and 5 losses.

Ian has had 10 pro fights, 7 wins (4 by KO), 2 losses and 1 draw. His last fight was in the semi final of Prizefighter and his next fight is a rematch with Colin Kenna on 13th July.

Wladimir Klitschko Vs Francesco Pianeta - Fight Preview

Will Pianeta be just another victim of 'Dr Steelhammer'?

WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight ruler Wladimir 'Dr Steelhammer' Klitschko will defend his titles on May 4 when he comes up against southpaw, Francesco Pianeta. The SAP arena in Mannheim, Germany, hosts this heavyweight title contest. 

Wladimir Klitschko (59-3-0, 50 KO's), needs no introduction. He has been dominating the heavyweight scene since 2004 winning 17 bouts (12 inside the distance), in succession. The only blemishes on his record came in 1998 (Ross Puritty), 2003 (Corrie Sanders), and 2004 (Lamont Brewster). All three of those losses came inside 12 rounds. It is safe to say that 'Dr Steelhammer' has taken a liking to ending contests before the final bell is sounded. 

Klitschko of course has fought southpaws in the past. In 2000, he came up against Chris Byrd whom he beat on points. In 2003, however, Corrie Sanders inflicted only the second defeat of Klitschko's career at the time after a two round demolition job. In 2006, Klitschko rematched Chris Byrd and beat him in 7 rounds. Sultan Ibragimov (2008), Tony Thompson (2008 & 2012), and Rusian Chagaev also suffered at the hands of 'Dr Steelhammer'.

61% PICKING WILDER TO BEAT AUDLEY, 100% BY KO!

There is a very big weekend of boxing coming up, and possibly the most intriguing match-up on Saturday night is Deontay 'Bronze Bomber' Wilder Vs Audley 'A-Force' Harrison. The fight takes place on the undercard of Khan Vs Diaz at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield and will be televised live on BoxNation (Sky 437, Virgin 546).

Like I said, this really is an intriguing match-up. Audley Harrison is coming off of three impressive victories in the Heavyweight prizefighter back in February, also becoming the first ever man to win two Prizefighter titles. But despite being in the best shape of his career and having huge momentum, Audley will enter this fight as a huge underdog because he takes on a man who is considered to be "the most devastating puncher in the world today"; Deontay Wilder. The American has a perfect record of 27-0, with 27 KO's, knocking out every single one of his opponents in four rounds or less. 

So obviously, as the stats shows, the majority of fight fans are picking Wilder to get the win, but the fact that he is still largely untested has given A-Force fans a little confidence. Here are the results:

Fury scrapes through Cunningham test!

Tyson Fury knew he was taking on the most skilled and talented opponent in his career so far when he went head-to-head with American Steve Cunningham on Saturday (April 20th) at Madison Square Gardens, but he was not expecting what he got in the first few rounds against 'USS.'

Fury, who stated on plenty of occasions that Cunningham was a "blown-up cruiserweight" seemed needless to worry about the 36-year old's power going into this fight. So it came as a stunning shock to the 6'9" giant when he was left on his backside on the canvas halfway through round 2. After Fury dominating the first 3 minutes of the fight, out of nowhere came a perfectly-timed over-hand right from Cunningham that toppled Fury to the floor. We now had a real exciting fight. Yes, Fury had the massive size advantage but Cunningham could hurt him at anytime.

Who were the fans expecting David 'The Hayemaker' Haye to face in his comeback fight on June 29th? Wladimir? Vitali? Tyson Fury? As much as we want these fights to happen, it was always a certainty that none of them were going to take place in June when Haye returns to the ring for the first time in almost a year. It was always going to be a relatively unproven contender that is ranked highly but not that much of a test for the Londoner. And that is what we have got on the 29th; David Haye Vs Manuel Charr.

Q&A with Hughie Fury!

World Junior Amateur Heavyweight Champion Hughie Fury made his professional debut just a few weeks ago and is looking to make a big impact on the current heavyweight division in Britain and worldwide. We caught up with the 18-year old and asked the following questions: 

What are your thoughts on the current heavyweight division? And what do you think you can add to it?

I think it's poor and I'm gonna give it what it's lacking. 

To become the youngest ever heavyweight champ you'll have to keep busy and gain a lot of experience.. How many times do you plan to fight this year?

At least 12 but I'm hoping 15 fights. 

Your debut was an impressive 2nd round stoppage victory over David Whittom.. How did you feel in the ring? Was it what you was expecting?

Yes best feeling ever it's always what I've wished for to get in the pro ring. 

Audley Harrison - Inspirational or delusional?

Harrison is the fighter who never seems to know when to give up. After his defeat to David Price 99% of people said he should retire. The only person who said no was Audley himself. He believes in himself and in his ability, he believes it is his destiny to be world champion.

He saw the latest heavyweight prizefighter show as a stepping stone back onto the road he has tried to follow many times before. Whilst others laughed, sighed and pointed at him his single minded determination resulted in him actually winning the event for the second time. 

He is now lined up to fight Deontay Wilder on Amir Khan’s undercard on 20^thApril in Sheffield. Wilder is the great hope from the USA with a record of 27 fight, 27 wins, 27 KOs!!
