The Fans Have Voted: Chisora Vs Scott

'Delboy' enters as slight favourite!

This weekend an intriguing heavyweight match-up takes place at Wembley Arena. Controversial Brit Dereck 'Delboy' Chisora takes on undefeated American Malik 'King' Scott in the main event of a stacked show put on by Frank Warren.

This fight has caught the imagination of fight fans, especially those from Britain, for many reasons. You've got two controversially talented heavyweights looking to prove that they have what it takes to either take their first step onto world level, or in Chisora's case, to get back to the level he has recently been fighting at. The winner of this fight will find themselves in a very good position.

This looks like its going to be a classic 'Boxer Vs Brawler' type fight, with Scott being a slipper, skilled technician and Chisora being the complete opposite. The former world title challenger has a come-forward Joe Frazier-like style that usually causes fighters like Scott problems if he's not dealt with. That's the question for most going into this fight: Can the talented, but untested Scott handle a guy like Dereck Chisora? This is what the fans think:

Malik Scott to win - 38%

Points: 89%     KO: 11%

Dereck Chisora to win - 62%

Points: 71%     KO: 29%

So you can see from the results that this is expected to be a close fight. The majority of fans are picking Chisora to just have that little bit too much but there's plenty of people backing the American too. There also wasn't many clear-cut predictions. Most people think that whatever way this fight ends, it will be very close while it lasts.

You can also see from the stats that most people are expecting this fight to go the distance. Neither of these guys are big-hitters. Chisora has a relatively high KO ratio but most of his stoppages have come in the later rounds from him just wearing guys down.

I, a long with most others, expect this fight to go the distance and be very close on the scorecards. As we are in the UK, Chisora's backyard, the decision will most likely go to him if it is nip-and-tuck the whole way. The only way I see this fight ending early is if Chisora can out-work Scott and wear him down in the later rounds, something I'm sure Delboy will be looking to do. Scott, I'm sure, will be looking to go the distance and out-box Chisora to a wide points decision. This will be interesting.
