90% picking Khan to have successful UK comeback!

This weekend (Saturday April 27th) Amir 'King' Khan (27-3, 19 KO's) returns to the UK, taking on experienced Mexican Julio Diaz (40-, 29 KO's) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. The actual fight itself isn't that exciting but the fact that Khan is returning to the UK for the first time in over 2 years and that he is still on the comeback trail from his devastating knockout loss to Danny Garcia, has got the fans talking about and anticipating this fight.

When we took in the fans predictions on Twitter (@BoxingOpinions1) this week, these were the results that came back:

Amir Khan to win - 90%

Points: 28%     KO: 72%

Julio Diaz to win - 10%

Points: 0%       KO: 100%

So as you can see from the results, the majority of people are picking Amir Khan by KO or TKO. Khan isn't a dynamite-fisted, power-puncher but Diaz has been stopped 5 times out of the 7 fights he has lost so this does seem like the most likely outcome.

A small minority have picked Diaz to win, but it really is a small minority, and to be honest I think most of them just picked Diaz because of their dislike for Khan. But, they're still votes and have to be counted, and everyone who picked Diaz to win said it will be by KO. It is hard to see Diaz winning a decision because of the fight being in the UK and just simply because he isn't as technically skilled as Khan. 

On paper, and probably in reality too, this is a mismatch. But, so was Breidis Prescott Vs Amir Khan way back in 2008 and remember what happened there! So make sure you watch this fight, just in case we do see an upset.
