The Fans Have Voted: Mayweather-Guerrero
Guerrero loses lead in final 2 days! Landslide victory for Floyd!
It's getting closer and closer, and the excitement is building... We're just days away from the highly-anticipated return of the pound-for-pound king Floyd 'Money' Mayweather (43-0, 26 KO's)! On Saturday May 4th he takes on Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero (31-1, 18 KO's) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
I don't need to explain to you how big this fight is. The fact that we received more votes for this fight than any other shows just how excited the fans are for Floyd's return and also how intrigued they are to see if Guerrero really can give the WBC champ the toughest fight of his career so far.
At first it looked as though we were going to see a big upset in the polls when the voting started this week. Robert Guerrero was actually pulling ahead after the first day or so but couldn't hold onto the lead as Floyd received more and more votes and moved further and further ahead in the final two days.
Here are the results:

Abner Mares Vs Daniel Ponce De Leon - Fight Preview
By Jack Price @PriceyJ97.
There isn’t
just one world title fight in Las Vegas this weekend. Of course, there’s the
one everyone’s talking about between the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather
and Robert Guerrero, but on the undercard we could well be treated to an even
more exciting and action-packed world title fight between Daniel Ponce De Leon
and Abner Mares. De Leon will be looking to make the first defence of his WBC
featherweight title against the highly-rated former 118 & 122lb champion Mares.
Mares has a
perfect record of 25-0 with 13 KO’s with victories over some of the best
fighters in the sport at bantamweight and super-bantamweight. Wins over guys
like Vic Darchinyan, Joseph Agbeko, Eric Morel and most recently Anselmo Moreno
have propelled him to superstardom and put him in a position where he stands
just a few fights away from becoming one of the sports pound-for-pound best - That’s
if he isn’t already there. This will be his first fight at featherweight and he
will be diving straight into the deep end when he takes on WBC champ Ponce De
Leon.
Floyd Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero - Fight Preview
By Jack Sumner @Jack_Sumner_
On Saturday night Floyd
‘Money’ Mayweather returns to his playground, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las
Vegas, where he defends his WBC welterweight title against his mandatory
challenger Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero. There’s much more at stake than a championship
however with Guerrero eyeing super-stardom and believing he’s on a mission from
God. For Mayweather, his long unbeaten record is on the line, as well as the
promise of zenith-reaching millions in the near future.
That’s because the
highest paid athlete on the planet last year signed an estimated $250 million
deal with Showtime in February, contractually obliging him to fight on the US
television network six times over the next 30 months. Given that Floyd has
fought four times in five years it’s a dramatic change in activity for the
consensus pound-for-pound number one and a loss to Guerrero could potentially
jeopardise the retirement fund, derailing the six-fight money train.

Floyd Mayweather Vs The Rest Of The World
By Jack Price @PriceyJ97.
So it has been announced: Floyd 'Money' Mayweather will take on Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero on May 4th! Here is how I think Floyd's fight with Guerrero and four other potential future match-ups could pan out. Enjoy!
Floyd Mayweather Vs Robert Guerrero - Welterweight
Guerrero and Mayweather stare deep into each other's eyes as the referee gives his final instructions in the center of the ring at the MGM Grand. Mayweather, for the first time in his career, seems to have had his feathers ruffled by his quiet but extremely confident opponent. The 35-year old is used to having the fans in the crowd be mostly supportive of his opponent, but he has never experienced anything like this before. Guerrero fans have come in the masses to support their fighter, who is finally getting the opportunity he has been asking for, for so long.

@fighthubtv
Jeff Mayweather, uncle of pound-for-pound king Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, believes his nephew can knock out Robert Guerrero on May 4th. He also believes that Floyd should look to retire after his potential showdown with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in September of this year.

'The Ghost' returns!
The first thing that most people noticed when the fight started was how big Guerrero looked. He was bigger than Guerrero and didn't look like a man that had moved up two weight divisions.
Guerrero started very well and dominated the first few rounds. But it was easy to see that if Aydin landed his right hand at any point, the momentum of the fight would change... And that's exactly what happened. Guerrero started to allow Aydin to get into range and the Turk started to power forward and land some solid shots. Around the mid-way stage of the fight, Guerrero looked very tired and Aydin looked stronger than ever. But, just a few rounds later, the momentum switched once again and Guerrero went back to his boxing; working well off of the jab and keeping Aydin at range. The same pattern followed up until the last round. Both fighters finished very energetically in what was probably the best round of the fight. Guerrero was announced as the winner on all three judges scorecards (117-111, 116-112, 116-112).
After the fight, Guerrero was very upbeat and happy with his performance. He also took the opportunity to call-out the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather.

| Shawn Porter. |
"You want this belt? Come and get it!" were the words that came from the Californian's mouth. Now don't get me wrong, this was a very good performance from Guerrero but he is nowhere near ready for Mayweather. However, it is a fight that realistically looks like it could happen. There's nobody else for Mayweather to fight and Guerrero is a southpaw, so if a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao does happen, this would be a good warm-up fight for Mayweather.
On the undercard, Shawn Porter defeated Alfonso Gomez in one of the most exciting fights of the year. Porter was very impressive and looked like he had improved massively from his last fight in April. The undefeated American took advantage of Gomez's weaknesses and took the opportunity to prove the world that he is a fighter that is destined for big things. His record now reads 20-0, 14 KO's.

| No.1 Welterweight contender Selcuk Aydin. |
Seeing as 'Money' Mayweather is moving up in weight and that he is going to jail, WBC President Jose Sulaiman thinks it is only right that their is a new Welterweight champion.
It has been revealed that Sulaiman has said that the winner of Selcuk Aydin Vs Robert Guerrero on July 28th woill likely be recognized as the new champion.
WBC silver welterweight champion Aydin is undefeated and Guerrero has won world titles in three different weight divisions but they are hardly the two guys that you would put first in line for Mayweather's title.
If it was down to us we would have recent eye-opener Devon Alexander next in line to fight for the title, but unfortunately it's not up to us or the fans. It's up to the WBC and they perhaps think that Alexander's impressive victory over Marcos Maidana wasn't enough to have him as the No.1 contender.
Mayweather is yet to talk out about the situation but it will definitely be very interesting to hear what him and his team have to say.
