The Fans Have Voted: Bradley-Provodnikov voted as 'Fight Of The Year' so far!

By Jack Price @PriceyJ97 - @BoxingOpinions1

Bradley & Provodnikov gave us a night to remember!
What a year it has already been for action, excitement and thrills in boxing. The fights that were expected to be dull have turned into classics and the fights that we were expecting action in have lived up to the expectations too. Off the top of my head I can think of more than a few fights from this year that we will be remembered for years to come and I'm sure most other fight fans can too.

We're only in June, halfway through the year, but like I said, there have been so many great fights already - so we have decided to do the latest 'The Fans Have Voted' article on what the fans believe has been the best fight of the year so far. We received over 50 votes on Twitter in just 2 hours, and here are the results:

1. Timothy Bradley Vs Ruslan Provodnikov - 12 votes.
2. Guillermo Jones Vs Denis Lebedev - 11 votes.
3. Carl Froch Vs Mikkel Kessler II - 10 votes.
4. Brandon Rios Vs Mike Alvarado II - 7 votes.
5. Saul Alvarez Vs Austin Trout - 5 votes.
6. Derry Mathews Vs Anthony Crolla II - 3 votes.

*Garcia-Judah, Fury-Cunningham & Viloria-Estrada all received 1 vote.

So there you have it. Out of every action-packed war we have seen so far this year, Bradley-Provodnikov was voted as 'The Fight Of The Year' so far. But you can see from the results, it wasn't a clear winner. Both Lebedev-Jones & Froch-Kessler II came very close, a long with a close spread just below between Rios-Alvarado II, Alvarez-Trout & Mathews-Crolla II. This shows just how good these 6 fights, a long with a few others, have been so far this year.

It should also be noted that three of the fights in that list were rematches. One thing we know in boxing is that rematches rarely live up to the expectations left from the first, but these ones all have. With a highly-anticipated 3rd fight between Marco Huck and Ola Afolabi coming up this weekend, maybe we will see another fight added to this very soon.

With more and more big fights getting announced as the weeks go by, we can only expect more action, excitement and thrills in the boxing world over the next 6 months!
