Danny Garcia Vs Zab Judah - Fight Preview
By Jack Price @PriceyJ97.
This
Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Booklyn, Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia defends
his WBA & WBC light-welterweight titles against ‘Super’ Zab Judah. This
fight was originally scheduled to take place on February 9th but was
postponed after Garcia withdrew with a rib injury. There has been some real bad
blood between these two men and their teams and they will finally be able to do
their talking in the ring on Saturday night after months of near-brawls and
trash-talking.
Garcia
(25-0, 16 KO’s) had a fantastic 2012 becoming unified world champion at 140lb
and scoring three impressive victories. In March of last year he picked up the
WBC belt with a unanimous decision victory over ring legend Erik Morales. At
this point he became a contender to look out for, but he didn’t really become a
mainstream superstar until he took on then-WBA champ Amir Khan on July 14th.
The 25-year old scored one of the most devastating KO victories of the year,
blasting out Khan in just 4 rounds and proving that he belongs at the very
highest level. The Philadelphian then finished off the year with a rematch
against Morales, winning via KO in the 4th round this time around.
Will Garcia step up?

Zab Judah
steps into the ring on Saturday the 27th of April at the Barclays Center in New
York possibly for a final time. He will be attempting to reclaim the glory days
which saw him win 5 world titles at 2 different weights and become undisputed
welterweight champion.
Is Zab's time finally up?
His opponent
is considered by many to be the top in the division although I disagree, he is
the current WBC,WBA and Ring light welterweight Champion with an
undefeated record of 25-0 (16 Kos) to his name which on paper shows he
has power an Zab should be worried. This is a tough Ask for Judah in my opinion
who surely will enter as underdog against a younger stronger opponent who is very
comfortable and naturally big at the weight. A win propels Judah back into the
mix and potential super fights with Peterson also a Kahn and Matthyse
rematches.
Garcia
however is on the way up and professes to many he is destined for stardom and
the P4P No.1 spot and maintains nothing will stop him reaching his goals. Many
critics including myself on the other hand are unsure how good this kid is, is
he protected?

Marquez Vs Judah likely for July 14th...
Zab Judah.
Judah has recently regained momentum in his career by stopping Vernon Paris in the 9th round of their IBF title eliminator. His career took a major blow when he was stopped by Amir Khan back in 2011. He is now looking to the prove to the world and himself that he still has what it takes to share the ring with one of the best fighters in the world.
"It's a fight I have campaigned for," said Judah. "This is a fight I wanted a couple of years ago and I still want it. I want him. He fought Floyd Mayweather and never touched him, and he got dropped. I can do that too."
Marquez cruised to victory against Fedchenko.
Judah's promoter Kathy Duva also commented on the situation: "I've been having discussions with Bob (Arum) for the past 24 hours. But the deal is not done. Obviously we'd love to do it. I think it's a saleable fight, a terrific fight. These guys are both big names, so we would love do it and it's not a complicated deal to make. He (Judah) really wants the fight but Bob hasn't made us an offer yet... Bob knows that Zab is available, so we are talking about it.
Bob Arum is set to make an announcement this afternoon regarding Marquez's next opponent. The original opponent being talked about was British light-welterweight Paul McCloskey but after his shock stoppage loss to Demarcus Corley at the weekend it doesn't like that he will be the man sharing the ring with Marquez on July 14th.

Judah targets Khan rematch!
Zab Judah is hoping to land a rematch with former world champion Amir Khan if he wins back his light-welterweight titles against Lamont Peterson in May.
Judah stopped his opponent Vernon Paris last saturday in an IBF title
eliminator which is believed to have put his career back on track.
After the impressive win he now wants revenge against Amir Khan who
stopped himlast year, but that is only if he regains his titles. If not
he will chose to fight Lamont Peterson even though the two are good
friends.
"If Khan beats Peterson, I would hope I get my due respect," Judah told
ESPN. "That rematch, if it should present itself, this time the real
Zab Judah will show up... I'll be looking to get in there and be very
dominant... If he should beat Amir Khan, Lamont is a great friend of
mine. [But] If that should be the case, we'll go in there and do what
we've got to do."
Although many people would like to see the rematch, Judah will likely
not get his wish as the fans and Khan himself are calling for a much
bigger fight between Amir Khan and Floyd Mayweather. This fight looks
more probable as Khan has repeatedly talked about his ambition to move
up to welterweight.
Another fight at welterweight that would not only interest Khan a
little more but would have the fans going crazy is a bout with Kell
Brook.
Khan and Brook have repeatedly bad-mouthed each other publicly so the
chances of a fight happening between the two are very big.
