McKenzie celebrates controversial victory in 1st fight.
This coming Saturday evening live on Boxnation we have the rematch between former WBO Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Maccarinelli(32) 36-6-0 28Ko’s VS the current Commonwealth Champion Ovill McKenzie(33) 21-11-0 10Ko’s, in the previous meeting between both hard punchers (McKenzie) won a 2nd round controversial stoppage with some claiming the referee called a halt to the contest too quick after McKenzie had stunned Maccarinelli, although the stoppage seems “early” we have to try & view things with some wisdom & care.

In 2006 Maccarinelli won the WBO Cruiserweight Title before defending it on several occasions before a huge unification VS fellow British foe in David Haye, a fight with huge public interest and a split in opinion as to who would win. The fight lived up to its hype as Haye won by 2nd round knockout & since than Maccarinelli has gone 8-4 in his last 12 fights suffering devastating ko losses to Ola Afolabi, Denis Lebedev & Alexander Frenkel also a controversial stoppage loss to McKenzie, Enzo’s wins in between his losses have been VS low level opposition to say the least, but one thing we can guarantee is both Maccarinelli & McKenzie are both brutal puncher’s domestically and especially early in fights.

Ovill McKenzie is a former Prizefighter winner & former British Champion his power has been evident in fights such as when he fought Tony Bellew, Ovill dropped Bellew twice before losing a 8th round TKO due to the nature of the stoppage a rematch was set and McKenzie lost on points in a very different fight from the first encounter since the Bellew fight McKenzie is 3-0 with 3Ko’s all inside 3 rounds.

This fight may not have the attention of every boxing fan but the British boxing public will be aware that this is a very intriguing fight with two tremendous puncher’s at the level they are competing at. Both men can punch but both can be beat & neither guy will shy away from a shoot out so this promises to be exciting. I expect a cagey few rounds before a fight breaks out I predict a win for Ovill McKenzie who I believe seems to have the better punch resistancy at this current stage in their careers. Don’t move don’t blink this is set to be a exciting shoot out between two excellent power punchers.
