Hopkins will return in March! Three potential opponents...

Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Boxing has announced that 47-year old Philadelphian Bernard Hopkins will return to the ring at the age of 48 in March of next year. Hopkins currently has the record for being the oldest world champion of all time and will get the chance to extend this record.

The massive event will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and there are currently three potential opponents for 'B-Hop.'

"Bernard Hopkins will be fighting March 9th at the Barclay Center," said Robert Schaefer (Golden Boy CEO) to worldboxingnews.net. "The fight will be against one of the three champions, in no particular order it will be (Beibut) Shumenov, (Nathan) Cleverly or (Tavoris) Cloud."

It looks very likely that his opponent will be Nathan Cleverly. The two fighters and their promoters have both been mentioning each other a lot lately and Cleverly is also scheduled to fight in America in March. To be honest, I can't really see the fight with Shumenov happening and Tavoris Cloud is only a little more likely. I also think the fight the fans would like to see is Hopkins-Cleverly so let's hope it happens.
