Eddie Hearn bites back at Frank Warren!

The forever ongoing rivalry between British boxing promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn continued this week when Hearn reacted to some of the things Warren had said in a previous interview.

A few weeks ago Warren made an offer to Hearn for IBF super-middleweight champion Carl Froch to move up in weight and face WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly. According to reports the fight was priced at £2,000,000 but Hearn refused and claimed that Froch had no intention of moving up in weight and was tied down to a rematch with Lucian Bute early next year.

"He knew that because of our obligation to Lucian Bute and because of the weight, the fight would never happen," said Hearn in an interview with iFilm London. "He's living on a different planet. He's a dinosaur. I've seen him in interviews recently saying 'why would I sit down and talk with Eddie Hearn. I've been in this business for years and years and years.' He may know more about boxing than me, but I guarantee I know more about new-age promoting than him... And how to promote a show, how to get the fans excited, how to build the atmosphere and give the fans of today, the modern age, what they want."

I'm getting tired if this to be honest with you. This is one of the main reasons that we don't get to see as many top-class fights as we would really like, rivalries between promoters. Fights between boxers from different promotions are becoming harder and harder to make because of petty disputes like this. I agree with Hearn on this one, there isn't really much chance of a fight between Froch and Cleverly but I think both are to blame for the arguing. I know it's not just these two but these are the top two promoters in Britain and should set an example to upcoming promoters, the fans and also their own fighters.

UFC President Dana White verbally attacks Bob Arum!

UFC President Dana White has launched a vicious assault on Top Rank CEO Bob Arum during an interview with MMAFighting.com. White started off by discussing the September 15th super showdown between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Sergio Martinez but ended up going into a rant about Arum.

"I love the sport of boxing and I watched, I bought the Chavez fight," said White. "Umm... So yeah, I mean, I'm happy for them. Listen, whenever boxing does good things and they pull killer pay-per-view, I'm always to see what they do on pay-per-view and I'm not those f*ckers... They did this much! I'm happy for them. I want to see combat sports do better. I want to see boxing pull bigger numbers. I'm not Bob Arum. That crusty d*ck, you know what I mean?"

"I'm not out there smashing everything we do and saying negative stuff about boxing. Boxing's f*cking great! It's an incredible sport. I wouldn't be sitting here now if it wasn't for the sport of boxing, you know? I'm not going to play Bob Arum's little pussy game. F*ck him!"

White then seemed to get even more annoyed when he was asked what he thought of Manny Pacquiao Vs Juan Manuel Marquez IIII going head-to-head with one of UFC's events on December 8th.

"That's what they do, they went head-to-head the same night on TV. They're crazy. Remember when Don King, Bob Arum used to go pay-per-view the same night? I know... I know... I get it. They took the same night we're on. Bob's a dick. This guy is a d*ck. Seriously, he's just a... He's a f*cking... You know, its like the guy can't... For some reason he hates the fact that this sport is doing well. Other guys are able to make money. Other athletes are able to perform and f*cking do great things. For some reason that bothers that old bastard. You know what I mean? F*ck him."

Friction between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather! Relationship no longer the same...

Just recently, there have been heavy rumours that "the most famous friendship in the world" could be coming to an end. If you're wondering who I am referring to as the "most famous friendship in the world," it is rapper 50 Cent and the pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd 'Money' Mayweather.

A few months back, everything was fine. The boxing world was actually buzzing for the two men when Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) announced that he had formed his own boxing promotional company named 'TMT Promotions.' He actually made three world class signings almost straight away in Yuriorkis Gamboa, Andre Dirrell and Billy Dibb. There were also rumours that 50 Cent becoming a promoter had increased the chances of a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Now, you're probably thinking, what the hell could of gone wrong?
Well, whilst Mayweather was serving time in jail for a domestic abuse charge, 50 Cent repeatedly claimed that Mayweather would be part of his promotional company. He even argued with Oscar De La Hoya, the president of Golden Boy Promotions (who have co-promoted Floyd's last six fights) and told him that Golden Boy would no longer be part of any of Mayweather's fights. However, these claims are looking to be untrue at this moment in time, and this also looks to be the reason why there is friction between the two.

50 Cent recently appeared on the Ricky Smiley Morning Show and when asked about the rumours, he acknowledged that things were different between the two.

"Me and Floyd is always gonna be cool," said 50. "Everybody around him is waiting on the next time he feels generous. And I have a lot [of money], so I don't wait for nobody. It's just a space and time. I'll go and do what I have to do. I don't gotta sit around and wait for the next time he feels like giving somebody something."
