Super-middleweight contender Sakio Bika has revealed that his upcoming fight with Nikola Sjekloca will be for the full WBC super-middleweight title, instead of the interim version that they were originally scheduled to fight for.
The current champion Andre Ward recently underwent shoulder surgery and is set to have a long break from the sport. This means that the title will be left vacant and it makes sense for the WBC to upgrade the interim match-up to a full title bout.
"I can confirm that my next fight is for the full WBC super-middleweight title," were Bika's words when talking to worldboxingnews.net.
The fight will take place on the Adrien Broner-Gavin Rees undercard on February 16th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
