Golden Boy to run shows in the UK, Looking likely to sign Ogogo!

By Jack Price @PriceyJ97.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has repeatedly claimed that GBP are aiming to put on shows in Great Britain in 2013, and it looks like they are almost ready to do this.

According to reports, the American promoters have signed 2012 Olympic gold medallist Anthony Ogogo and are looking to showcase their new prospect in his home country of England in early 2013.

Ogogo made a great name for himself at this years London games and Schaefer believes that the 24-year old has the right mix of talent and charisma to become a worldwide name in the boxing world.

If the deal is successful then Ogogo will be signed on a multi-year contract and will be the first of Team GB's boxers to turn pro. British gold medallist Anthony Joshua was rumoured to be considering punching for pay but it now looks like he is leaning towards staying amateur and taking part in the quickly-rising WSB tournaments.
