Both men are training in Big Bear, California and plan to have three full-blown sparring sessions with each other. This experience will definitely benefit Gennady Golovkin who is looking to make his mark in the middleweight division over the next year or so, but it will be Cotto who will learn the most.
It was clear to see at a recent press conference that the Puerto Rican has a pretty big size disadvantage to his American opponent. Golovkin is a big, strong guy and without doubt one of the most devastating punchers in the world today. If Cotto can hold his own against the WBA and IBO middleweight champ then Trout shouldn't be a problem for him.
