Floyd Mayweather's Appeal Denied

Mayweather on his way to jail.
Judge Melissa Saragosa of Las Vegas has denied pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr's appeal to be released early from his 87-day jail sentence. Mayweather was looking to spend the rest of his sentence under house-arrest but the judge is making no allowances for the boxer, he will be treated the same as everybody else.

Mayweather claimed that he was was underfed, dehydrated and unable to train at the Clark County Detention Center. The judge was having none of this and claimed that Mayweather was simply refusing to eat the food that was being supplied. She also said that there is water available for him 24-hours a day and he is able to train in his cell.

The appeal was apparently made because Mayweather and his close friends believe that his health is deteriorating which could affect his so-far impeccable boxing career. Mayweather is known as a fitness fanatic and a guy who is never out-of-shape, even when he is in "retirement." There is no doubt it is going to be hard for him but the judge's message is basically -Tough luck. It's jail.

We all knew that 'Money' was going to attempt to get out of jail as soon as possible and some people thought he would be out in under two weeks. This looks unlikely now, but it does look pretty likely that he will not serve the full 87 days.
