It has been announced that world heavyweight champion Wladimir
Klitschko will be defending his titles on July 7th in a rematch with
Tony Thompson.
The fight will take place in Switzerland, almost four years to the day that Klitschko stopped Thompson in the 11th round.
If Klitschko is to win, it will be his 16th straight victory in a row
and his 12th knockout in those 16 wins. He is coming off a 4th round
knockout of former cruiserweight world champion Jean Marc Mormeck.

Klitscko's knockout in first fight with Thompson. |
The fight was announced on Wednesday, two days after Klitschko's 36th
birthday. But, age is proving not to be a factor for either of the
Klitschko brothers with both looking pretty unbeatable at this moment
in time.
Thompson is actually older than Klitschko by over 4 years and since being stopped by Wladimir on July 12th 2008 he has won 5 straight bouts all by knockout. So it may not be all easy for Klitschko on July 17th.
Will it be another dominant performance by Wladimir Klitschko? Or will
Thompson be able to cause him some trouble?
