Redemption No.2 for Carl Froch?

Last night at the O2 Arena in London, England, Carl Froch continued his impressive and seemingly unstoppable run of form with a unanimous decision victory over friend and old foe Mikkel Kessler to avenge the first loss that was put on his record back in 2010.

It was a clear victory for the 35-year old, he looked better than ever, and now people are calling for him to get another shot at super-middleweight king Andre Ward, the only other man to defeat him. There are some people who believe this fight is still pointless, because no matter how much Froch has improved, Ward is basically unbeatable and has already proven it. But the question to ask those people is; who else is there to challenge 'S.O.G' at 168lb?

Canelo refuses to fight on May 4th if Floyd doesn't sign agreement!

Mexican light-middleweight superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (41-0, 30 KO's) has announced that he will refuse to fight on theMay 4th undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas if Floyd Mayweather doesn't sign an agreement that guarantees a fight between them in September. The 21-year old looked set to defend his WBC title against Austin Trout in a super-fight that would be chief support for Mayweather's fight with Guerrero.

Team Canelo have given Mayweather a deadline of Thursday to sign the agreement for September. If not Canelo will fight on April 20th in Mexico or May 11th in the US, with the opponent most likely not being Trout.

"We are going to arrive to Los Angeles this Thursday," Canelo told Notifight.com. "If on that day Floyd does not sign our agreement for September we are not going to fight on the evening of May 4th, and then we will determine if we'll fight on April 20th or the week that follows the May 4th date."

Gavin Rees could return to the US in the early summer!

British lightweight Gavin Rees gained a lot of new fans in America on Saturday night, despite being stopped in five rounds by unbeaten superstar and WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner. The 32-year old showed true courage and gave his best effort but just simply wasn't good enough to compete with the man in front him. But this event as a whole has seen him go from an unknown Brit to a popular contender in the US. His promoter Eddie Hearn claims that we could see 'The Rock' return to the States for a fight later this year.

"Gavin's performance won him many admirers in America. He is a true warrior and we have already been approached about further fights for Gavin in the US in early summer," Hearn told BoxingScene.com

"His stock however has also been raised significantly in the UK and there are still some big domestic opportunities available to him here. All in all the future is very bright for Gavin and the plan is to pick up another world title shot before the end of 2013."

Warren hoping for third time lucky...

American amateur boxer Rau'shee Warren is praying that it will be third time lucky for him at the London 2012 Olympics that start next week. The 25-year old flyweight will make history by becoming the first American boxer to compete in three Olympic games. However, he believes that this is not enough. So far he has not won a medal at the tournament and he wants one before he starts punching for pay and moves into the pro ranks.

He has considered turning pro in the past, especially after his early exit from the Beijing tournament in 2008, but he believes that this time nothing will go wrong. With the tournament just a week away, the American certainly doesn't lack confidence.

"I'm happy that I have achieved this, being the first American boxer to go to a third Olympics," said Warren. "That is making history, but now I have to put a medal on top of it."

"After London, I'm looking forward to going professional... I feel I have made my mark by being the first American to go to the Olympics three times, but I am giving up the amateurs. After the 2008 Olympics I wanted to go professional, but I decided to stick around and go back for the third."

"I had lost and I didn't want to go professional having lost out twice at an Olympics - I want to do it as a medallist."

Warren believes that the experience he has picked up over the last eight years could be his key to victory at this tournament.

"I'm taking advantage of the first two times for this third time. I will take my experience and the mental side and put everything into one,and when it is time for competition, that has got to show."
