BOARDWALK HALL - ATLANTIC CITY - NEW JERSEY - 18/5/2013
'Showtime' Shawn Porter. |
This Saturday night we
have a fight taking place on the undercard of Matthysse vs Peterson bill from
the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City. In this match up you have 2 undefeated
prospects in a crossroads/breakthrough fight for the winner. SHAWN PORTER
24-0-1 10KO’s aged 25 and once touted as the next Shane Mosley will be making
his highly anticipated return to the ring since a draw in his last outing vs
Julio Diaz over 10 rounds, Diaz later went on to fight Amir Khan in the year
losing in a close fight.
Phil Lo Greco. |
Porters opponent is
PHIL LO GRECO aged 28 undefeated with a record of 25-0 14KO’s, a combined record
of 49-0-1 24KO’s. on paper this looks to be a real 50-50 fight with bigger
fights in line for the winner. Expectations have been high for Porter.,
Porter’s biggest scalp to date is a win over former contender participant Alfonso
Gomez, But in his last fight, he was supposed
to step up to world level against former world lightweight titlist Julio Diaz.
But Diaz was on form on the night catching clean and outworking him at some
points and forced a draw.
Meanwhile,
Lo Greco is 28-years-old and has yet to have been tested at any kind of level.
His only two notable opponents have been Brandon Hoskins and Slawomir
Ziemlewicz. In his last fight, Lo Greco was knocked down by Daniel Sostre &
almost stopped by a guy who lost his last four fights. Fair play to Lo Greco who came firing back and won by stoppage in round 7. It was an entertaining fight
but not the type of fight I expect to see against Porter. PREDICTION SHAWN PORTER
TKO 8TH.
The two time welterweight with the 32 year old Cuban contender is a fight that is not to be missed. Watch Shawn Porter vs Yordenis Ugas live online via FastestVPN!
