Broner Vs Burns looking likely for April!

By Jack Price @PriceyJ97.

According to reports, the highly-anticipated fight between lightweight champions Adrien Broner and Ricky Burns is looking likely to take place in April of next year.
WBO champ Burns was scheduled to fight this past weekend but had to cancel it due to two opponents (Liam Walsh & Jose Ocampo) pulling out.

The Brit's promoter Frank Warren is keen to set up a big money fight between Burns and Broner as soon as possible but Burns and his manager Alex Morrison have their own plans for the following year.

"I spoke to Ricky this morning and we decided he will not be fighting Adrien Broner in February," Morrison told STV. "Ricky didn't want to jump from a non-event to the biggest fight of his life in a matter of weeks."

"He'll make a defence of his title in Glasgow in January and we'll look at Broner after that."

Morrison did also state that this fight will only happen if the price is right.

"Ricky will fight in America if the money is right," he added. "That's £400 net, after fees, after tax. We could be looking at April."
