Pacquiao named WBO Fighter Of The Decade!

The World Boxing Organisation (WBO) have chosen pound-for-pound contender Manny Pacquiao as their 'Fighter Of The Decade.'

The 33-year old has actually only fought under the WBO four times in his eventful career but the Puerto Rico-based company believe his achievements in the ring make him shine above the rest. 'Pacman' became a WBO champion in 2009 when he beat Miguel Cotto for the welterweight title. He then defended it twice against Shane Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez before losing it in a controversial fight with Timothy Bradley in June of this year.

One of Pacquiao's main achievements is the fact that he has won eight world titles in eight different weight divisions, more than any other fighter to date. He is regarded by some as the greatest fighter in the world today and has beaten some of the best fighters of this era including; Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton.

The WBO also picked Pacquiao's fellow Filipino Nonito Donaire as their 'Fighter Of The Year' for his top-class performances against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr, Jeffrey Mathebula and most recently Toshiaki Nishioka.
